At Trinity Road we use Knowledge Organisers to support learning, enrich vocabulary and develop knowledge and understanding of the topics that are studied.
The organisers are given to every child to take home at the beginning of a new topic and are also stuck in their topic books. They contain written information that the children will need for their learning that term as well as any relevant diagrams, maps or pictures. Key words and new vocabulary is also included, with definitions, so that the children are able to use the correct terminology when discussing their learning as well as broaden the vocabulary that they use generally.
Children are expected to refer to their organisers during lessons and parents are encouraged to discuss the information with their children at home to excite and inspire them to find out more and become independent learners.
