Working at Trinity Road Primary School

We are delighted that you are interested in joining the team. From here, we invite you to read some testimonials from staff, explore our current vacancies, and (to really get a feel for our school) reach out to us to arrange a visit.

Trinity is a dynamic school with clear expectations of staff. There are leadership opportunities for everyone who wants to share their passion with colleagues. Inside the school, there is a Senior Leadership team, an extended leadership team which includes Phase Leaders and we have subject leaders too.

We have big aspirations this year around raising the attainment of pupils and developing achievement of some under-performing groups in school by improving our language skills, strengthening our curriculum and nurturing engagement with parents.

Our staff are central to our school’s vision: Motivated, happy and skilled adults deliver quality teaching of the curriculum, broader knowledge, skills and experience in an immersive, dynamic, engaging and practical way which shapes resilient, compassionate young people who love to learn.

There is great support internally to learn and grow, as well as external opportunities for CPD and the option for funded CPD courses. Our school serves a diverse community and we are well connected with local partners including local authority services and community organisations. You will be accountable for your pupils making good progress and we have invested in the latest tools and moderation practices to support you in carrying out and recording accurate assessments.

You can expect from us support to teach the way you’ve always wanted to teach, continued investment in your career development and your wellbeing, as part of a highly effective team of support and teaching staff. You’ll feel this is the right school for you if you’re committed to helping pupils reach their full potential and feel inspired to help us achieve our shared vision.

Testimonials

I joined 5 years ago as a Year 2 teacher because I wanted to work at a school that was making a difference for pupils and improving their chances for a better life. The children I have taught have always been excited and enthusiastic to learn and through my teaching I feel like I’m having a positive impact on their lives.

My role as art and music leader has allowed me to lead some exciting projects that have made the school environment a stimulating and engaging place for children. I’ve brought regular singing into the school, which lifts everyone’s spirits when the children’s voices resonate through the school. Our Year 5’s went to the O2 last year to take part in the Young Voices competition. The Essex Music Education Hub awarded us the honour to become a Music Mark School in September.

I’m able to work at Trinity part-time, which is perfect for me because I have other interests and commitments I’m able to continue working on without stretching myself too thin.

I teach our mixed year 5 and 6 class. Although I studied English at university, I’m really passionate about teaching Maths and I’m really proud of how I’ve introduced the use of manipulatives throughout the school to connect with learners. I hosted a local partnership workshop at our school this year to share my experience of improving maths learning and I also run the 11+ study group for pupils who are preparing for grammar school applications.

I like that we all have our own school laptops and can work collaboratively on sharepoint to bring ideas to fruition. We also have a really nice staff room where we can work and plan over a coffee.

I work in the school as an ‘Adult who Supports Learning’, an ASL, and I have a passion for art. Nothing pleases me more than bringing colour into pupil’s worlds. We ran a competition for designs that could liven up our new play equipment storage sheds in the playground. I painted the winning designs, there were so many great ideas it was hard to choose! I’m often found running the face-painting stall at the school PTA Summer Fete and the Christmas Bazaar.

I work in the school office, there’s a rarely a quiet time as it’s always bustling with staff, pupils and parents. And I really enjoy that, plus I work with a lovely team of people and we’re really proud of our role in supporting the teaching staff and families.
